Derby 2025

The anticipation is huge

“It is a great honor for us and the anticipation is huge,” explains Matthias Alexander Rath, Managing Director of the event agency Schafhof Connects. From 2025, Rath and his team will organize the German Show Jumping and Dressage Derby in Hamburg.

“Over the past 24 years, Volker Wulff and his team have made the Derby a fantastic and unique event,” emphasizes Rath. “For us, it is both an honor and an incentive to build on this and develop the Hamburg Derby even further with the combination of tradition and modernity.”

The Norddeutscher und Flottbeker Reiterverein e.V. (NFR) approached Rath about taking over the classic event. “We exchanged ideas, our ideas fit together very well and now we are looking forward to the future together with the agency Schafhof Connects from Kronberg,” explains the Chairman of the NFR, Dietmar Dude. “The cooperation with the organizers of the four- and five-star dressage tournaments at Schafhof, the International Festhalle Riding Tournament Frankfurt and, as of this year, the CHI Donaueschingen fits in wonderfully with the German Show Jumping and Dressage Derby.” Volker Wulff has made the Hamburg Derby a highlight in the equestrian calendar, Dude continued. “His commitment and expertise are exemplary and we would like to thank him for his contribution.”

Full commitment and passion

A wonderful challenge

At Schafhof Connects in Kronberg, preparations for the Hamburg 2025 premiere are now in full swing. “Our many years of experience and our far-reaching commitment to equestrian sport make us great partners to take over one of the most important equestrian events in the world - plus a fantastic team that works with full commitment and passion,” says Rath happily, adding: “We would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks to the NFR and everyone involved. We are determined to continue shaping the Hamburg derby with passion, professionalism and respect for its tradition and to give it a bright future. It is a wonderful challenge.”
